MMPs, MT-MMPs & TIMPs

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of Zn2+ -endopeptidases which were believed to be crucial for tumor cell invasion and metastasis, acting by degrading extracellular matrix macromolecules such as type IV collagen. The activity of MMPs is regulated by a family of endogenous inhibitors known as TIMPs. It has been suggested that an imbalance between MMPs and TIMPs triggers for Rheumatoid Arthritis, tumor cell invasion and metastasis.

We can now offer monoclonal antibodies to MMP-1 (interstitial collagenase), MMP-2 (gelatinase A), MMP-3 (stromelysin-1), MMP-7 (matrilysin), MMP-8 (neutrophil collagenase), MMP-9 (gelatinase B) and MT-MMPs (membrane-type matrix metalloproteinases) for immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry and their EIA kits for determination of levels in blood, urine and body fluids. We can also offer recombinant TIMP-1 and TIMP-2.
